Happy is a beachy word. After all the beach is, by and large, a happy place to visit.

We'd all do well to remember that I guess.

Your gran's demise has echoes of that of my mother. What's more resonant than an echo..?

We visited the beach - just once.

With tears running down my face I remember her the picnic`s on the beach her bathers and all the fun we had
And sadly very that last day is etched in my mind for ever more
All he wonderful things she did and taught us, with out us even knowing she was wise and kind
And always some thing will pop up to remind us of her games of scrabble, the smell of her cooking and her Irish lilt that I never heard till I spoke to her on the phone Cheerio my dear

What a fabulous grandmother. I would've liked to meet her, she sounds like someone I would like.

This resonated so much with me. My Nana taught me to play scrabble. She taught me all the words you can make with q when you have no u. She is slowly deteriorating. She does not have the mental faculties to play anymore and it makes me so sad. I can not wait to teach my daughter and son to love the game the way I love my Nana.
